Monday I made cards

Ok, so I made more cards tonight. I used a different piece of paper from One Heart...One Mind. Thanks to Cat for having it in the store. It really is neat. Here are the cards I made tonight: I also had a good creative day doodling. I can't share the doodles cuz I left them at work. Sometimes you just gotta let that creativity flow. I never know what I'm going to doodle. I just open myself up and start to write. Today the theme was hearts and dancing. Did my heart need to dance? Was my heart dancing? I am feeling rather stifled these days, so maybe I do need to dance. Excuse me while I boogie...

Sunday I made cards

I used my cardstock and printed paper from One Heart...One Mind. You can use one sheet of the printed/divided cardstock and make at least 6 cards. I can make even more cards because I bought the extra pp. Here are the ones I made tonight: I feel like I'm on a creative roll right now. It all just seems to be flowing. I'm just going with the feeling and whatever comes out, comes out. You have been warned.

Self-Addressed Saturday a Success!

Well, it was the first Self-Addressed Saturday at the Cupboard and it was SO MUCH FUN! We stamped, inked and laughed so hard I think we all peed our pants. Ok, maybe that was TMI, but it's true! Here's who was there: Sue, Chris, Cat, Lora and me. We first ate pizza at Filippi's and then crafted a bit. Then we just had to walk down to the Blue Mug and get some coffee cuz we just weren't goofy enough. We finally wrapped it up around 9. That's 7 hours of non-stop fun, my friends. We missed you, Johanna! Next SAS is the 3rd Saturday in September. I will miss that one because we will be in Jamaica, mon! We got to use some of the new justjohanna stamps. They are so darn cute! Better check Sue's pockets for that little bird with the santa hat holding a Christmas ball. Oh, she liked that a lot. Just kiddin', Sue. Oh, and Sue brought a watermelon, but we didn't eat it because it was made of YARN! She is so silly. I think Lora was into the Christmas spirt as she kept stamping those fab new jj images. Oh, and she made a really cute cupcake stack! Tomorrow is Open House again. Oh, before that, I am going to bury St. Joseph in the back yard. Yes, I got a statue. Hey, it can't hurt, right? Next Thursday is the Caravan for the realtors, so I hope we get a nibble or two after these events. During the open house, I think John and I will go to the San Marcos Summer Street Fair. That's it folks. Da Dow!

Crafty weekend

I tried to post last night, but Blogger was being temperamental, and now I can't remember what I wanted to blog, so whatever. Yesterday I went to Ever After in Carlsbad and took a birthday rolodex class. It was really fun and the paper was really cool. We used Chatterbox paper. After that, I went home and worked on my jj creations for the month. I'm doing something different this month... I'm doing non-traditional card shapes for my designs. I hope Johanna likes them. Only three weeks left before we go on vacation. Seems like it took forever to get here. John and I are flying to Philly where we'll meet up with my siter and brother-in-law, and then we'll fly down to Jamaica. We're staying at Sandals Dunn's River. The four of us go on a vacation each year and this year Donna & Mike picked the place. It looks GORGEOUS and we can't wait to get there! After our week in Jamaica, we are going back to Philly and then we'll spend the next week with Donna and Mike at their house in Northampton. John and I plan to drive up to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY. We've always wanted to see that. Tonight I finished up a swap. Ethel is the hostess of this swap. It's an altered CD holder and personalized CD inside. I did my favorite type of music: techno and trance. I hope it's not too weird for the other ladies. I entitled my disk, "Move" cuz that music makes you want to get up and move. It makes me want do dance, but maybe it will make them want to move OUT, I don't know. :) My niece, Dana, is working on some drawings for me. I was going to sketch today, but just didn't get around to it. What are the drawings for, you ask? Well, you will have to wait. That is a secret for now.

I pea'd a bag

I finally finished the Halloween paper bag book for the class on Sept. 6th at the Cupboard. It was hard for me to keep it simple. I tend to want to embellish it to death, but the class is only 3 hrs long, so I had to be good. You can click the link above, but here's a sneak peek: You can see it as well in my 2peas gallery. I've got some birthday cards to make and then I have to work on my justjohanna cards for my August submittals. Oh hey, I nearly forgot to show you this - my designs are now stamps. I have them in my hands. It's weird to actually hold them. I think this must be what Johanna felt like when she held her first actual stamp she designed and made. The thought that people will be using my stamps to make cards and art is, well, AWESOME! Johanna, you rock! Thank you for making my designs into stamps. I love it!

Houston, we have a listing!

Ok, that was weird, but I couldn't think of any other good title to announce that OUR HOUSE IS FINALLY LISTED ON THE MLS! I'm so excited. We've got a sign out front, flyers and advertising and everything. It's real, it's really going to happen! I even asked my agent if she had a statue of St. Joseph. No such luck. She did have a candle for St. Jude, though. Well, I don't need that yet. My agent gave me a list of Christian bookstores that may have the statues. I really am going to bury that thing. I have been having so much fun making samples for my classes at the Cupboard. The class on the 17th will be the 3D flowers class and here are some samples: Come join us at the Cupboard on the 17th from 6-8:30. I'm working on my samples for the class on the 30th: French Fry containers. This will be a cute project. I can't wait to do these! Then, THEN THEN on Sept 6th we'll be making paper bag books. This will be a Halloween theme with Memory Box papers. Oh, I love Halloween, don't you?

Ah, Monday...

What a nice day. Work was ok even for a Monday. I got a phone call from my sister, too, how cool is that? Well, it's not like a phone call from her is so unusual, it was just that it was a good phone call. A nice break in my day. I made some cards last night. Here's what they look like: Those cards are for a swap called, "What are you wearing under there?". I have a neat bra stamp, but lots of the ladies have bra stamps, so I decided to use my guy stamps. The inside of the cards say happy birthday. Nothing spectacular. I was going to use my stamp that says "for your viewing pleasure" but decided not to. Should I have used that one? You tell me. Here's one of the bra cards I've done before: Tonight, I'm working on my very last swap. Well, the last swap I'm signed up for at the moment. The swap is hostessed by our very own Ethel A! The swap is for an altered CD holder. You know those cardboard CD sleeves? Each person in the swap makes 5 copies of a CD they've made. The music on the CD is what music we love. Boy are they gonna be groovin' when they get my CD's! I'm putting on some boggie dancin' music. The sleeves are ones we cut out of cardstock and embellish and then send in to swap. I'll pea my sleeves when I've finished them. They won't be done until the weekend, so you'll have to wait. :) See you tomorrow.

Sunday = Funday

Let me just say that the house is now officially on the market! Woo hoo! We had our first Open House today. Haven't heard back from the realtor yet, but I hope we had some people come through. Went to Mom's today while the Open House was going on. Got her computer hooked up right and got everything working except the sound. Dumb computer won't play regular sounds (game sounds) but it does play CD's just fine. Who knows what's wrong? It won't let me change anything in Accessories/Volume - everything is grayed out there. Computers are a PITA sometimes. Mom painted her computer room a really cool soft yellow color. John hung the window hardware so she could hang her swag. It looks really pretty. John drove Hwy 101 north to get home. As we were passing Ponto beach, I said how neat it looked and we should stop and get our feet wet. He said, yeah, I heard the news guy say the water was 74. So we hung a U-turn, parked and walked down the beach. It was after 6pm and there were still lots of people on the beach. Here's a pic I took: The water was not 74 degrees, but it wasn't cold, either. It was fun walking down the beach. We walked almost all the way to Grandview and back. The tide was coming in so we didn't go too far. I'm getting really interested in drawing, so I'm practicing from pictures. I took some pictures of the gulls on the beach so I could practice. Isn't his one cool? I love how the red spot is on his beak: Well, that's enough blogging for now. I made some cards tonight, but I will post them tomorrow. Have a good day! Buy my house!!!

Friday

I was such a good girl today. When I got home from work, I didn't just plop down in front of the tv or go right upstairs to the craft room. Nope, I did my chores first: finished painting the downstairs bath (hooray!) and painted three doors. After I paint the back sides of those doors, the painting will officially be done. So after painting, I came upstairs to make some cards. I am going to make the samples for my class on the 17th so I can take them in to Cat tomorrow before we start packing boxes. I am so excited to see the new stamps Johanna has come out with. I've seen the previews for the new stamps and I can't wait to get them all! Of course, I'll have to work extra hard doing classes to get ALL Johanna's stamps! :) I love, love, love, the mermaid...!!! Off to craft. See you tomorrow. Oh, you want a picture for today? Ok, here's a picture of my messy bulletin board.

I can see the light at the end of the tunnel

The FOR SALE sign is in the front yard! How cool is that?? Our first Open House is on Sunday, August 6. We are working on packing up the unnecessaries and getting rid of the why-do-we-still-have-this stuff. It's a chore, but it's also cathartic. I mean, why do we need STUFF anyways? That's a whole other tangent.... The only thing that's left to paint is the downstairs bathroom. I primed all the walls and the ceiling on Monday night. I'll paint it tomorrow and then it is done. We went to the Padres game tonight. We lost 1-0 against Houston. Whatever. It wasn't even a very good game. I read the Reader for the first 2-3 innings, then I sketched for a few innings. We've decided not to renew our season tickets for next year. It's just getting to be a major PITA getting down there, especially on Tuesdays. We miss at least 1 inning and sometimes 3 innings because of the traffic or because that damn freight train has to do whatever it does right as we, along with a thousand other people, need to cross the tracks. I'm not enjoying it as much as I used to, either. We hate to give up our awesome seats, but who's to say if we decide to purchase season tickets again we won't get better seats? :) I made crafts yesterday... I made Mom's birthday card. Mom, don't look. lol I also made this other card. I think the 2nd one is weird, but people at work like it. Go figure. Oh, the House Mouse card has 3D crystal lacquer on the whole fishbowl. I had to laugh - I put the lacquer on the card and put it in a safe area of my work desk, or so I thought. When I checked the card in the morning, there was a kitty footprint on the lacquer area. Those darn cats!!! I guess that was his contribution to the cardmaking process. Tomorrow I am going to work on my samples for my first class at the Cupboard. I am going to do 3D flowers for the class on the 17th, and for my class on the 30th, I'm going to do some fun french fry containers. You can check the calendar at the Cupboard for details.
